Fotografia no Enokojima Art Center (Osaka, Japão); a AVA Gallery (Varkaus, Finlândia); a
projeção no 15º Festival de Fotografia de Tiradentes; e a seleção no Prêmio Portfólio
FotoDoc 2025/2026, na categoria ensaio.
Angel Marks (1964) is a photographer and visual artist based in São Paulo, Brazil. She holds a degree in Business Administration and completed her education in Photography and Art History at Escola Panamericana de Arte e Design.
Her practice investigates photography as a perceptual field, exploring silence, duration, and suspended time. Through formal reduction, her images expand presence and establish a slowed rhythm of contemplation.
In the presented work, the horizon emerges as a threshold between presence and silence.
The reduced scale of the human figure dissolves references and invites the viewer to experience the space, rather than merely observe it.
In dialogue with contemporary investigations of perception and duration, her work proposes inhabitable images.
She is the author of the series The End Begins Blue and The Interval, the latter later
unfolding into an artist`s book.
Her work has been presented in Brazil and internationally, including the 1st Biennial of Paper & Photography at Enokojima Art Center (Osaka, Japan); AVA Gallery (Varkaus, Finland); the screening at the 15th Tiradentes Photography Festival; and selection for the FotoDoc Portfolio Award 2025/2026, in the Essay category.
