Márcio Balbo has been a traveling photographer since discovering his calling to explore places. The focus of his work is distinctly Brazilian. He is not merely a traveler of destinations, for his restless spirit journeys through unknown territories - especially those hidden within himself. He travels to understand Brazil, not simply to visit it. His perspective is sensitive and poetic, going beyond the merely scenic. With a long-standing body of work that blends the human and the natural, he converges toward what we imagine to be Brazilianness. And this extends beyond aesthetics, for his photography - beyond emotion - also reveals fragments of time. At its core, his gaze invites us into an inner reflection.
