Maria de Minas is a Brazilian photographer and visual artist whose research explores the relationships between territory, identity, and belonging. Her practice moves between documentary photography and hybrid experimentation, articulating nature, culture, and memory through layered compositions that both tension and merge portrait and landscape. Deeply connected to water and riverside communities, she develops in Marajó a body of work in which figure and territory interpenetrate. Stilt houses, mangroves, flooded backyards, and everyday gestures intertwine with the faces of local residents, forming a visual narrative that dissolves the boundaries
